This one-day training covers compliance for electrical products to the requirements of machinery standard EN 60204-1 and the Low Voltage Directive, including design considerations and validation techniques.
Effective mitigation of electrical hazards is an essential requirement. EN60204-1 provides a ‘presumption of conformity’ in relation to electrical hazards. Effective use of the standard is therefore the most robust route to compliance. The course covers all aspects of the standard to enable anyone involved in design of electrical machinery to use this standard with confidence. The training also includes a module on the Low Voltage Directive and aims at applicable legislation and how to design compliant products, apply regulations to your products and highlights actions you may need to take to make equipment safe.
Project managers, engineering leaders, electrical engineers, safety and compliance engineers, quality managers and anyone who is involved with the design of machinery utilising any internal or external electrical energy source.
The course consists of presentations, exercises and worked examples, providing interactive participation and question-and-answer sessions. Participants receive a certificate of attendance if they attend the full course and complete the exercises.
• Introduction to electrical machinery safety
• Protection against electric shock
• Other EN 60204-1 technical requirements
• Markings, warnings and technical documentation
