We also provide knowledge training courses and skills courses dealing with risk assessment, technical communications, requirements writing, and compiling technical files.

Machinery compliance (CE and UKCA)

This training is aimed at machinery manufacturers, importers of machinery, machinery designers, purchasers, mechanical engineers, project managers, machine and control system designers, safety and process engineers.

Awareness of product regulations - 3 day course

The training provides an overview of product regulations that may apply, the legal responsibilities of various parties, techniques for complex risk assessment and the production of a technical file and required declarations. The training also provides detail on processes for the management of diverse sets of requirements.

Introduction to CE and UKCA marking

This training is aimed at equipment manufacturers, importers of equipment, equipment designers, purchasers, mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, machine and control system designers, safety and process engineers.

Risk assessment skills to EN 12100

This training offers a detailed methodology of risk assessment. It will look at hazard identification and risk evaluation and methods for recording, reviewing and maintaining risk assessments. You will be supplied with the tools for carrying out your own risk assessments.

Compliance for electrical products (EN 60204-1 and LVD)

The course consists of presentations, exercises and worked examples, providing interactive participation and question-and-answer sessions. Participants receive a certificate of attendance if they attend the full course and complete the exercises.

Control systems safety to EN 13849

This training offers an in-depth approach to EN 13849-1/-2 compliance. During the training you will learn how to apply the standards, how to calculate and verify safety parameters and you will be given instruction on validation techniques.

Lifting equipment, lifting accessories and stillages

Machinery legislation places some specific additional obligations on equipment that is used for lifting operations, both lifting equipment (for loads and people) and lifting accessories. Manufacturers and users of this equipment must be aware of these requirements and ensure compliance with them.

Ergonomic compliance and design

This course provides an overview of the varied technical requirements relating to ergonomics and provide techniques for achieving compliant and safe designs. The course will enable you to design and manufacture machines with confidence that these hazards have been managed.

Technical file compilation skills

This course enforces the mandatory content of the technical file and provides some tools and techniques for the creation of technical files that will stand up to scrutiny. The course focuses on the use of EHSR and product standard checklists as the key document around which the technical file is built and will empower delegates to create effective checklists for their projects.

Effective technical communication skills

This course provides a basis for understanding key aspects of communication and why it commonly fails, as well as providing practical tips for improving verbal and written communication. The day is highly interactive, providing the opportunity to gain feedback from the trainer and other delegates.

Product design skills to ISO 9001

ISO 9001 sets out some best practice principles for processes to be followed in the design of products. This training details these requirements, methods for satisfying them, and provides delegates with the opportunity to practice the skills and techniques discussed.

Machinery Regulation 2023/1230

This one-day training provides an in-depth look at the new and modified requirements of the EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230. The training offers you practical guidance by covering the new Essential Health and Safety Requirements, the revised obligations for the technical file, as well as changes to conformity assessment.

Requirements writing, skills and methodology

This one-day training covers the importance of effective requirements management to the successful delivery of a project, from the identification of the requirements at the outset to the demonstration of their completion at the end.

PUWER assessment skills

This training offers a module on Risk Assessment and an overview of the content of PUWER, an explanation and a practical application of risk assessment, and a method for the application, implementation and management of the PUWER regulations at your work place. You will be supplied with templates for risk assessments and PUWER assessments. This training will allow you to carry out risk assessments and PUWER assessments for your own work equipment.

Internal auditing skills to ISO 19011

This course provides training on ISO 9001 compliant internal auditing, which forms part of the effective performance evaluation of all Quality Management Systems. The training equips staff to carry out focused and effective internal audits and gives practical experience in planning for, conducting, reporting on and improving internal audits.

Legislative compliance of pressure equipment

This two-day training covers the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive/Regulations, equipment categorisation, different modules and associated conformity assessments, Essential Safety Requirements (ESRs) and technical documentation required to prove conformity and understand CE and UKCA marking.

Introduction to EMC compliance

This one-day training covers the application of the European Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (and the UK Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations) to machinery.

AVAT2 ATEX, DSEAR, IECEx

The 1-day course covers equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (including ATEX, DSEAR & IECEx). The 2-day course offers an in-depth course on the subject matter.
