Lifting equipment, lifting accessories and stillages

Lifting equipment, lifting accessories and stillages

The Course

This one day of training covers the safety and compliance of equipment used for lifting operations such as cranes, hoists, lifting beams, chains, slings and other equipment including stillages.

Why should you attend?

Machinery legislation places some specific additional obligations on equipment that is used for lifting operations, both lifting equipment (for loads and people) and lifting accessories. Manufacturers and users of this equipment must be aware of these requirements and ensure compliance with them.

The course details these additional requirements and methods for demonstrating compliance. It also covers the interface between product and user legislation (LOLER), and equipment used for lifting, but which is outside of the scope of machinery.

The course will allow you to correctly categorise equipment used for lifting and identify and comply with the relevant requirements.

Who is it for?

Project managers, engineering leaders, safety and compliance engineers, quality managers and anyone who is involved with the design of machinery or other equipment used for lifting.

How is it delivered?

The course consists of presentations, exercises and worked examples, providing interactive participation and question-and-answer sessions. Participants receive a certificate of attendance if they attend the full course and complete the exercises.
